The other day I showcased our decorated dining room... all ready for the holidays. Today... I give you our living room. We went with a rustic "fun" look for our living space. With reds and plaids and laminated photos (due to our 18 month old) -- I think it turned out pretty nice!

So it has been awhile since I have blogged... but I decided that sharing my Christmas decor will be a great way to end my comfy&cozy blog and prepare to launch my lawrence+grace blog in January. Today's blog is all about our dining room!
If you don't know this about me, I LOVE Christmas. I love the symbol it represents - love, kindess, generosity. I love spending extra time with my friends and family. I get excited to watch Jude get excited. I cherish that we get to celebrate the birth of our Savior. ...and I love that I get to decorate our home. So.. here you have it -- some shots from our dining room. Introducing Honeydew's newest lady... The Arlynn Sofa
This piece is full of beauty&glam. She is clothed in a delicate blue but decorated with enough tufted pattern & brass detail to stand out at any event. She would make the perfect addition to your photoshoot, wedding, or event you are planning. She shines beautifully alone, but can also be dressed up to match any & all styles. The Arlynn Sofa is available beginning December 2016 - email me at [email protected] for details on renting it for your next event.. In just a couple days, it will mark 2 weeks since Miss Arlynn has come into this world. I wanted to share a few photos I took of my little bundle of sweetness! I also wanted to add that I appreciate all the love and prayers that have been sent our way. My mom leaves today and motherhood of (t.w.o) begins on my own. My outlook is to keep an open mind and be flexible, but I'll take the continued prayers! Also a special shout out to my friends, family, & MOPS family for the meals made to help make our transition easier. We cannot imagine life without Arlynn in it, & because of all the support, kind gestures, meals, prayers, and love - we are feeling truly blessed. Thank you. :) As many of you know, we welcomed our baby girl into our family last weekend. Our world as been forever changed. I was so so so excited for our son, Jude, to meet his little sister and had a photographer set up to capture the moment in the hospital. Unfortunately, Jude Dude was struck by the dreaded hand-foot-mouth illness and was't allowed at the hospital or our home for 5 days.
After a very long wait, and an amazing vacation at his Grandparents house (included with many tractor rides, dancing, cooking, and constant attention) Jude came home to meet his sister. My sweet friend Madeline (from Madeline Jane Photography) already was set to come snap some pictures of Arlynn and I - so she agreed to stay and snap some shots of Jude coming home and meeting his sister for the first time. THANK YOU MADELINE -- these photos mean the world to me... After our reveal party & we knew we were expecting a little baby girl... I was super excited to create a delicate, vintage inspired nursery. I wanted it to be pretty but also have some vibrant pops of fun. I live by the Dave Ramsey way, so we set up a budget and it was important that we stuck to it. All of my blogs will give shout outs because without the amazing family Gabe and I have, there is no way we would have access to some of the talent showcased throughout our home. Below I break down the pricing, give some recognition, & briefly describe how we created Arlynn's room. If there is something you want more information on - feel free to comment below & I can elaborate in an additional post. [$0] crib - donated, sanded & painted So my parents moved to the HIO {Ohio} and my mom didn't have room for this crib. We did an ol' switch-er-roo and I gave her my pack-n-play (so she could only have it up when we visited) and she gave us the crib for Arlynn's room) It was a dark wood color that Gabe & my Papa sanded down before we painted it white. [$10] sheets - Target [$0] sign (above crib) - Mother in Law made as a gift If any of you know my talented sister in law - I am sure you have one of her Sarie's Signs showcased somewhere in your home. Well her mom just happens to be my Mother in law. I showed Jill my vision -- and this beautiful "Darling" sign was created from it. [$14] flowers (above crib) - handcrafted by me The paper flowers are a cheep, yet fun way to add dimension (and color) into the room. I made these out of cardstock & hot glue. [$100] buffet(dresser) - purchased from Yoder's in Punxsy, sanded & painted I searched for a detailed dresser for this room for months. It was so much harder than I thought finding one. I am so so happy I didn't settle though, because I finally found a antique buffet with so much detail that would work beautifully for this space. It wasn't finished, so I bargained it for $100. We took it to my grandparent's garage where they helped me sand & paint. They deserves a huge shout out -- because between this, the crib, watching Jude and the HOT&HUMID month of July, they were incredible & willing to help with whatever I needed. Love you both! [$60] Supplies to redue crib & buffet - Lowes [$15] 3 white frames (above changing station) - Ikea [$2] Gold frames - yardsale [$0] maternity photo of me in small frame - Images by Amber How fun that my sister in law Ashley & her sister Amber (&Me) are all pregnant at the same time? When Amber was home for her baby shower... I set up a shoot in my yard. We showcased Honeydew Vintage inventory & our bellys (all due with baby girls) It was such a fun night & I have some amazing photographs making me feel oh so beautiful to remember it by. [$10] Scrapbook paper - Cricut crafted: Arlynn Grace, hello gorgeous, feathers & Proverbs quote [$10] "A" decor (above changing station) - A is from TJ Maxx -- I sprayed it blue [$15] "Be Happy" decor (above changing station) - Ross [$4] Gold clock - Walmart [$0] book shelving unit - Ikea - We had these in my craft room & I reorganized & rearranged so I was able to spend nothing and use these in Arlynn's room instead. [$0] Arlynn Canvas - My Mom painted as a gift. Even with the move & being crazy busy with life, I was so happy my Mom was able to create this Arlynn canvas for me&my baby girl. I adore that her room is filled with pieces from her family. [$25] rocking chair - H&L Resale/Brockway PA - spray painted
We found an old rocking chair at H&L Resale. Howard, the owner, is amazing to work with and we are so pleased with how it turned out. All I did was apply two coats of gold spray paint. [$4] Love is simple pillow cover - Wish App [$15] white side table - yard sale [$0] Flowers - leftover from floral A craft [$0] curtains - vintage lace curtains from my grandmas house, that we previously used for our wedding. [$120] rug - usarugs.org I was willing to spend a little more on the rug for I wanted to find something specific. I wanted it to have that boho vibe and be full of life with colors. I searched for quite awhile and just couldn't bring myself to pay $300+ for a rug. FINALLY, I found this -- and it was on sale. I snatched it immediately and love love love how it looks. [$9] floral A The "A" was on clearance for $4 from Joann's & I put together the floral arrangement with flowers from the dollar store. [$0] gold frame - donated from my Grandparents #H&LResale #SariesSigns #MyfamilyisIncredible #ImagesbyAmber #YodersAntiqueMall #vintagenursery #vibrantBOHOrug #ArlynnGrace With the hustle and bustle of life right now with a 15 month old, I have been on my toes. I promise to do a more extensive blog in the near future, properly thanking each person that helped make this vision come to life. Until then, here is sweet baby Arlynn's nursery.
I have to admit, my family & friends really know how to make a girl feel loved. My mom and mother in law hosted a small sprinkle for me yesterday afternoon and it was beautiful. I cannot believe my baby girl will arrive in 1 short month and the day reminded me of the amazing support team she will enter the world to know. It was hot - but besides the sweat - the day was surrounded by laughter, love, & delicious food. Thank you all for the continued prayers and well wishes as we prepare to bring Arlynn Grace into this world. Special Thanks to the following:
Mom - for bringing to life a beautiful boho inspired vision by creating most of the decor, mason jar mexican salads & all the other cooking and prepping you did! Jill - for helping bring the vision to life, adorable feather cookies & all the other cooking and prepping you did! My Aunts -- because you guys not only are super creative -- but you always jump on board to help with events and you have incredible cooking abilities!! :) Honeydew Vintage -- for the Reese settee & additional details that Lindsey help put together. I met Carrie and Tom at the end of April (of this year). A sweet couple, with a great idea to get married in less than 3 months. Not only that, they wanted to pull off a back yard wedding on the 4th of July in Brockway, PA. Brockway is a small town in Pennsylvania that is known for it's annual 4th of July festivities with large crowds of Red, White, and Blue - celebrating our country throughout the streets. The town encourages families of all ages to come and enjoy in events, food, and fun -- ending with a local parade and beautiful firework display. We didn't think twice. Honeydew was in and it was going to be my first event seen through from start to finish. Recap thus far: Backyard wedding in the middle of Brockway, PA. On the 4th of July My first event for Honeydew Less than 3 months to pull it together Oh and I would be 29 weeks pregnant ...funny thing was -- I was more excited about the whole thing then worried or nervous. Carrie & Tom's personalities helped keep my nerves in tact, for they were the perfect couple to work with on such a tight schedule. Add Lindsey's excellent coaching skills with her sweet & encouraging tone and I was set up to succeed. Amazing clients, incredible boss... nothing could go wrong. If you haven't heard about Honeydew let me elaborate. Honeydew Vintage is this incredible company that I am beginning to learn the skills necessary to be a part of. It is more than a few pieces of furniture. It is a small team of individuals that create, design, learn, adjust, and recreate the perfect vision you have for your special event. We have inventory we start with and then build from our pieces, taking a Pinterest idea to a whole new level. We are part of a fabulous community of creatives & have worked with some incredible Florists, Photographers, Musicians, Caterers, and Event Coordinators. We've also had the privilege to collaborate with small businesses that create or add unique pieces such as gorgeous custom signs, chalkboards, or goblets. I am going to lay it for you all in the most simplistic way - this experience was a fantastic first experience. It rained. hard. right before the ceremony was to take place. A month has passed & Carrie and I agree -we wouldn't have changed that memory. Take a look at the photos below that Madeline Jane Photography captured and the romantic feel of this backyard event! The rain just adds to the perfection of their special day. Styling & Decor: Honeydew Vintage
Photography: Madeline Jane Photography Catering: Catering by Paulette Floral Arrangements: Linda Manhart Bride’s bouquet: Brady Street Florist Hair & Makeup: Tanya Pangallo Custom Signs: Sarie Signs Live Music: Bad Hat Daddy O’s Our little man turned o.n.e -- so we had a party. I decided to go with a vintage/airplane theme. Our families are amazing & helped us create & celebrate his birthday even though Mother Nature had other plans. It is funny though, the rain dropped the temp down to bearable & all the little boys LOVED the water, mud, trucks, and planes! :) |
