When I mentioned my idea to Gabe (and my Mom) about distressing a white bottom, and staining a deep-dark table top, they both gave me a weird look. But once I showed them my inspiration – they both agreed it would look perfect and the adventure began. As I get started explaining what we did to create this look, here are some before pictures to take a look at.
4. To finalize them, we used two coats of polyurethane to protect them and give them a slight shine. It took 2 weeks but we finished the process and LOVE our dining room chairs.
8. We put a second coat on before sanding it again, lightly, with 220 grit sand paper. We put 2 more coats on after that making it a total of 4 coats.
9. I was given the advice to not use the table for about a week to just let it all soak in and set up. It has officially been a week and I'm going to add some decorations to the top of the table today. :)
